Bean to Bar Chocolate

A new Dutch classic, dark chocolate with 71% cocoa content with aromas of nuts, flowers, and herbs. A pleasant bite, the melt is just right, and a long, chocolatey aftertaste with a hint of coffee.
The original Dutch chocolate tradition is renowned for the art of blending premium cocoa. Heinde & Verre have created a harmonious blend of certified organic cocoa from Latin America, the Caribbean, and Indonesia. The result is a bar with a generous, complex, and long-lasting flavor.


Origin: THREE FARMERS' COOPERATIVES

The organically certified cocoa in this blend is cultivated in agroforestry systems, among other sources. Three single-origin cocoas from Peru, the Dominican Republic, and Bali add excitement to the Dutch Original Blend.

Peruvian cacao is grown by Colpa de Loros: 250 farmers in the Ucayali region. The area was once known as a drug-related crime zone. Sustainable cacao plantations were established with the help of international development funds. Certified organic and Fair for Life, the cacao has pleasant aromas of honey, caramel, and soft fruits.

Öko Caribe comes from 165 farmers located in the heart of Duarte Province in the Dominican Republic. This award-winning cacao is known for its consistent quality. The farmers receive ongoing agricultural training. Öko Caribe provides microcredit to its members when needed. The cacao is characterized by earthiness, coffee, red fruits, and a hint of nutmeg.

Balinese cacao is cultivated by the 230 Kerta Semaya Samaniya Farmers (KSS) in the Jembrana region of the island, known for its fertile volcanic soils. In 2011, the KSS succeeded in cultivating the first organic cacao in Southeast Asia. The cacao is known for its floral, vegetal, and spicy notes.
